How We Verify

How We Verify

What’s real on TGPlug today, exactly how it’s collected, and what we’re honest about still building. No guessed numbers, ever.

Public Metadata LIVE

Every channel on TGPlug starts from its own public Telegram metadata — channel name, handle/username, description, and current subscriber count — read directly from Telegram’s public channel pages. We only index public channels; private or invite-only channels are never scraped.

Subscriber Snapshots LIVE

A background worker takes a daily snapshot of each indexed channel’s subscriber count and stores it with a timestamp. This is what makes growth measurement possible: instead of a single point-in-time number, we build a real history for every channel, one snapshot at a time.

Growth History LIVE, PER-CHANNEL

7-day and 30-day growth percentages are calculated directly from snapshot history — never estimated. A channel only shows a 7D or 30D figure once it has enough consecutive daily snapshots to calculate that window honestly. This means two channels indexed on different dates will show growth data at different times, and that’s intentional.

Why you’ll see this vary by channel: a channel added last week can have a 7D figure but not yet a 30D one. Older, longer-tracked channels have both. We show exactly what the data supports, not a blended average.

Category & Vertical Classification LIVE

Each channel is classified into one of four verticals — Sports Betting, Casino, Crypto, or Prediction Markets — based on its name, handle, and description. Channels we can’t confidently classify are tagged as general rather than forced into a vertical that doesn’t fit. Country and language tags use the same evidence-based approach: we only tag a signal (like a country or language) when the channel’s own metadata supports it.

What “Building History” Means

When you see “Building History” instead of a number anywhere on TGPlug, it means exactly what it says: that metric requires more accumulated data than currently exists for that specific channel. It is never a placeholder for a hidden or estimated value — it’s an honest “not enough data yet” state. As daily snapshots accumulate, “Building History” is automatically replaced by the real, calculated figure. We chose this over silently displaying “0%” or a guessed number, because a fabricated zero looks like a fact and a “Building…” state doesn’t.

Freshness

Subscriber and growth data refreshes on a daily cycle. Rankings and comparisons are recalculated as new snapshots land, so a channel’s position can shift day to day as real subscriber movement happens — not on a fixed schedule disconnected from the underlying data.

What TGPlug Does Not Yet Measure

These are being built. Until each one is real and verifiable, we don’t show a number for it — you’ll see a “Building…” state on channel pages instead.

Reach

Cross-channel audience reach or overlap estimates are not yet collected or published anywhere on the site.

Citation Intelligence

How often other channels mention or forward a channel’s content — a planned influence signal — depends on cross-channel mention collection that is still being built.

Engagement Intelligence

Reactions, views, forwards, and other post-level engagement signals are not yet collected.

Posting-Time Intelligence

Posting frequency and timing patterns are not yet tracked or scored.

What Listing Does Not Mean

A channel being indexed on TGPlug is not an endorsement, a quality guarantee, or a verification of that channel’s operator, content, or claims — it means we track its public metadata and subscriber history. Always do your own research before acting on tips, predictions, or offers from any channel, particularly around betting, casino, or crypto content.

Questions about a specific metric, or think something looks wrong? We’d rather hear about it.
